Emergency Travel Certificate

  1. Formal request letter for the Emergency Travel Certificate by the applicant. Include your current

address and telephone number, please.

  1. Expired Nigerian passport (to be sighted and returned to owner), as well as a copy of passport data page.
  2. For a loss passport, Please include a police report as well as a data page of a lost Nigeria passport (if applicable).
  3. 2 passport size photographs.
  4. Copy of itinerary or airline ticket.
  5. $150.00 in money order payable to the Embassy of Nigeria, Washington, D.C.
  6. Applicants under the age of 18 (Eighteen):
  7. a) Copy of Birth Certificate.
  8. b) Copy of both parents’ Nigeria passport (data page). At least one parent must be Nigerian.
  9. c) Letter of consent signed by both parents.
  10. A certified self-addressed prepaid envelope from USPS, UPS, or FedEx (Next day delivery).

 

NOTE: The Travel Document is valid for 30 days only and cannot be used to return to the United States (one-way journey). Allow 7 working days for processing time. Also, drop off and collection of documents from Monday through Thursday between hours of 11:00 am to 12:30 pm.
